When it comes to different types of retail shelving, the most important one is gondola shelving. Your shopper’s can find them in your stores and across other retail formats because of their highly functional features. But the question is, how will you maximize the store’s efficiency with gondola shelving? A recent report shows that a gondola shelf built using an efficient planogram causes 50% of the total sales of the store. Planograms are visual merchandising tools, which help retailers in executing gondola shelves to display different merchandise with removable shelving, slots or pegboard. So, the following are some planogram ways to maximize store’s efficiency:

  • Consider using clip strips to improve the store’s efficiency: It is a thin piece of metal or plastic with hooks placed at regular intervals. This allocates more space to the top-performing SKUs and results in more exposure and sales. Also, cross-merchandise any products together, for example, placing toothbrushes next to toothpaste, shampoos with conditioners and more. Retailers can use clip strips like merchandising displays, adhesive displays or printed displays to merchandise products, which also increase the chances of exposure.
  • Consider using grills: It is suitable for products that are small, or items that can be merchandised on top of each other. Executing items like this improves the shopper's experience and leads customers to purchase more. Also, using grills increases the facings and optimized space for each item on shelves and provide more space for the best-selling items.
  • Consider using pegboards: It is a retail fixture that allows pegs, hooks, and baskets to be positioned at varying distances. It reduces unnecessary shelf stock capacity due to its limited depth. It can draw the shopper’s attention to the store due to its visually aesthetic feature, so that they can find and reach out for the right products easily. Similar to clip strips, retailers can use pegboards to cross-merchandise items, and boost sales.
  • Use hanging bars: Like pegboards, hanging bars can also be used to hang products, which are spaced like a shelf on a gondola. That is why products of the same height can be hung together. It helps to hold greater quantities of items, which results in optimizing the shelf space for more sales. This results in improving the shopper’s experience due to the browser friendly nature of hanging bars.
